Every synagogue and Jewish institution relies on its members for support. By making a donation, your contribution will ensure that Shaare Zion Congregation remains a thriving centre of the Montreal Jewish community for years to come.

Charity Fund - The money collected in this fund is distributed to the needy in our community.

Children's Library Fund - A label can be inscribed in a children's book used during children's programming on Holidays and Shabbat mornings.

Donate Gifts of Securities - Gifts of appreciated securities provide an excellent way for you to support Shaare Zion Congregation. Consult with your financial advisor about setting up the transfer process with the Jewish Community Foundation.

Everlasting Yahrzeit Fund - Annually, on the day of Yahrzeit, the name of your family members or friends will be mentioned and memorialized with the recitation of Kaddish. Each year you will receive a notice from Shaare Zion Congregation providing both Hebrew and English Yahrzeit dates. This will be done for a period of twenty-five (25) years for a one time tax-deductible donation of $1000 per name.

General Fund
As implied by the name of the fund, the money is used for the general needs of the synagogue.

Make a Bequest - By naming Shaare Zion Congregation a beneficiary of your estate, you will give the gift of Jewish worship, learning and community in the years to come. Consult your estate-planning professional about including Shaare Zion Congregation in your plans. Your planning today will make a difference in the future of Shaare Zion Congregation for years to come.

Planned Giving - Your support of Shaare Zion Congregation with a planned gift can help you now, while providing the synagogue with income in the future. Planned giving allows you to tailor your donation to fit both your needs and those of Shaare Zion Congregation.

Special Funds - Funds set up in memory of loved ones or by families who wish to donate money for a particular cause such as Youth Programmes, Music and Cantorial Programmes or purchase of religious articles.

Sponsor a Kiddush - Sponsoring a weekday morning breakfast or Shabbat Kiddush is a great way to honour the memory of a loved one or to celebrate a special occasion.

Prayer Book Fund - Daily and Shabbat prayer books can be inscribed with a label to celebrate a special occasion or honour the memory of a loved one.

Torah Restoration Fund - The money in this fund is used to repair and care for the Torahs.

Tree of Life: Anne Goldstein Etz Hayim Fund - Inscribe a leaf on our Tree of Life in honour of a special occasion such as a birth, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, wedding, special birthday, anniversary, or academic or professional achievement.

Yahrzeit Fund - Money is donated on the anniversary of the passing of a loved one.
